Dallum to Lead WLSSD Human Resources
DULUTH, MN – Marianne Bohren, Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) Executive Director, has announced that Melissa J. Dallum has been named Director of Human Resources for the District.
“We are thrilled to have promoted Melissa to this position and fortunate to have internal talent in place to replace our recently retired Director Molly Haugen,” said Bohren. “Melissa will lead the continued development and maintenance of an ongoing program in human resources, labor relations and team and employee development. Her experience in recruitment will prove to be increasingly important as we continue to hire staff replacements for a considerable number of anticipated retirements in the next several years.”
Prior to joining WLSSD, Dallum most recently served as WLSSD’s Benefits Administrator. She has a strong background in human resources, serving for several years in the Northland Human Resource Association, and currently serves on its Board of Directors. She also serves on the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College’s Maintenance Advisory Board. Dallum earned a BA in Human Resources from the Concordia College in St. Paul.
Western Lake Superior Sanitary District provides award-winning wastewater and solid waste services to residents, businesses and industries within its 530 square mile legislative boundaries in Southern St. Louis and northern Carlton counties, and is a nationally recognized leader in pollution prevention.
