WLSSD Right-of-Way Clearing along Lakewalk planned for April 20
Duluth, MN – Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) contractors will clear vegetation from the sanitary sewer right-of-way along a 3-block portion of the Lakewalk on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. The work will result in a brief, one-day Lakewalk trail closure between 23rd Avenue East and 26th Avenue East. Contractors expect to complete the project on April 20, and the Lakewalk trail will re-open when the clearing work is finished.
To clear the right-of-way, some small trees and brush will be removed. Maintaining a cleared right-of-way is necessary to provide access to sewer pipelines and manholes for routine maintenance and emergency projects where large equipment may be necessary. The planned clearing is being conducted in anticipation of a future sanitary sewer pipeline rehabilitation project.
