Just because it’s broken doesn’t mean it belongs in the trash can! Whether it’s cracked, torn, stained, missing a piece, or just not working properly, broken things can be made good as new with the right skills and tools. Resource Renew is partnering with the Duluth Folk School and Duluth MakerSpace to host Fixit Clinics where you can learn how to fix your stuff!
Fixit Clinics are events where volunteers with repair skills give free, guided assistance to help you troubleshoot and fix your broken household items. Volunteers specialize in a variety of repair skills, including electronics and small appliances, woodworking and furniture, watches and jewelry, clothing and upholstery, sports and outdoor gear, ceramics, artwork, and more!
Fix-It Clinics run from 3:30 – 6:00 p.m. on the following Saturdays in 2026:
Seeking repairers of all specialties and skill levels! Fix-It Clinic volunteers help guide participants in fixing their broken items, identifying what’s wrong and teaching valuable repair skills. Bring your own tools & equipment, and you’ll be reimbursed for consumable materials. Even if you’ve never fixed anything before, the Fix-It Clinic welcomes volunteer greeters to orient participants and keep the event running smoothly! Volunteers receive training and orientation in the hour before each Clinic and can enjoy free coffee and $10 towards Dovetail Cafe menu items (for events held at other locations, refreshments will be provided instead).
