Resource Renew Bus Fund

The Resource Renew Bus Fund supports our mission by providing teachers and students opportunities to build an understanding of how water, solid waste, and energy can be responsibly managed, reused, and renewed. Tours are offered free of charge and educators are encouraged to apply for transportation grants of up to $500 to help offset the cost of bringing students to a Resource Renew facility.

Funding is available on a rolling basis, with priority given to schools or student groups that have not previously toured a Resource Renew facility. Within each priority group, applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Funding will close when all funds have been awarded.

Eligibility

1. Accredited schools (public, private, charter, or parochial) located within the Resource Renew service area are eligible to apply.
2. Applicants may apply for one grant per school year.
3. Teachers must demonstrate a clear connection between their classroom curriculum, teaching and learning goals, and the Resource Renew tour as outlined in the Bus Fund application.

Application Process

1. Applications must be received at least three weeks prior to the planned tour.
2. The tour must be scheduled through the tour request form.
3. Once an application has been reviewed and the grant has been awarded, recipients will receive an award notification from Resource Renew. Applicants will be notified within two weeks of submitting their application.
4. Within 30 days after the tour, grantees must:
   1. Submit a copy of the invoice from the bus company or school district.
   2. Provide the name and address of the recipient for the reimbursement check.

Please allow up to 35 days from the time the required documentation is submitted for reimbursement funds to be issued.
