Sewer Repair Project on Highway 61 Nearing Completion
ESKO, MN— WLSSD contractors have completed the emergency repair of WLSSD’s Scanlon Interceptor in the median of Highway 61 near Sorila Road in Esko, MN and wastewater flow has been restored to the 42-inch sewer pipeline. Traffic lanes on Highway 61 and adjacent road crossings will be reopened in mid-October following the removal of the equipment and the temporary pipeline used to ensure wastewater service during the repair and the site is restored.
All travelers in the area are advised to use caution, slow down and obey signage in the construction area. Odor may be noticeable at times during the conclusion of the project.
Additional work is planned beginning in spring of 2018 to rehabilitate an adjacent section of the Scanlon Interceptor. Details about the project and impact on the surrounding area will be determined as the project is planned in the coming months.
