Earth Week(s) Calendar!
April 22nd is Earth Day… but we can’t celebrate the earth JUST one day! Here’s where you can find us in April:
- Wednesday, April 15
- Yard Waste Compost Site open for the season! Check out the hours and pricing here.
- Saturday, April 18
- Lincoln Park Clean-Up, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Bean & Bear Bagels. Volunteer to clean up the neighborhood through Ecolibrium3.
- Water Resource Recovery Facility Tour, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., meeting at the Resource Renew Admin Building. Create an account and sign up through Duluth Community Education.
- EcoFest, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Clyde IronWorks. Bring us all your weird waste questions and take home some waste-reduction swag! Learn more on the Ecolibrium3 website.
- Tuesday, April 21
- Compost Site Tour, 2 – 3 p.m. at the Resource Renew Yard Waste Compost Site. Space is limited – sign up through Whole Foods Co-Op.
- Twin Ports Green Drinks, 4 – 6 p.m. at Bent Paddle Brewing. Casual professional networking… and book & puzzle swap! Learn more on Perfect Duluth Day.
- Wednesday, April 22 – Happy Earth Day!

- Thursday, April 23rd
- Recycling 101, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Proctor Area Community Center. Register through Proctor-Hermantown Community Education.
- Saturday, April 25
- Medicine Cabinet Clean-Out, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Household Hazardous Waste. Bring your expired or unwanted medications to Household Hazardous waste for (free!) proper disposal.
- Solid Waste Facilities Campus Tour, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Go behind the scenes of Household Hazardous Waste, the Solid Waste Transfer Station, and Yard Waste Compost Site to learn where everything goes after you toss it in a bin. Register online.
- Duluth Township Firewise Expo, 1 – 3 p.m. at Duluth Township Town Hall. Learn how to manage hazardous wastes in the home!
- Compost Bin & Rain Barrel Pick-Up, 1 – 4:30 p.m. at the Yard Waste Compost Site. NOTE: barrels and bins must be pre-purchased online; those who have already reserved their bins & barrels may pick them up at this time.
